Today is day 56 of 2015….how are those resolutions coming? Hopefully you did not give up on them yet, especially if they were health related goals. I know it is difficult to always eat healthy and exercise. We have so little time. You really need to ask yourself….will I have time for diabetes, heart disease, cancer….they are 24/7 illnesses and will wait for no one!
The biggest problem is we set goals too big, too fast. We want to be perfect as our perfection will yield the perfect body, perfect life. Thing is…you already are perfect as you are. You only need to be healthier so you can have a better quality of life.
For me….the only thing that worked for me was picking one small goal at a time and giving it my 100% attention. I started just eating a healthy breakfast. That’s it. I read about it, thought about it. Tracked it. When I did not do it I asked myself, but what DID I do well and what did I learn from not eating a good breakfast and then ask….how can I plan better. That’s it. ONE small goal and give it all you got. Then gradually add another….by years end you will find yourself on your way….I found myself down 60 pounds that year….2009 was the last year I ever had “weight loss” as a New Years Resolution. That was a great year! And thanks to the crazy energy in class…I have not gone back to those old jeans!
So….whatever that resolution is….get back on it. Just break it down, pick one small part and focus on it.
Be Good to Yourself….so you can be better for everyone else in your life that is counting on you.
