I am currently at Day 3 and I am already down 4 pounds. I had a great question that asked…..WHY? WHAT WILL THIS DO? Here we go….
I do not agree with ELIMINATION diets that eliminate WHOLE groups of food. I do however support eliminating groups within a food group. This is attempting to eliminate SIMPLE CARBS. There are 3 types of carbohydrates we eat. Fiber, Complex and Simple.
FIBER is indigestible carbohydrates. High fiber foods contain components that do not break down in the body, and do not get converted to energy or fat. They give the body a full feeling while traveling through it, and provide other health benefits, such as contributing to heart and colon health.
SIMPLE are refined sugar and fruit, break down quickly into SUGAR. Simple carbohydrates (refined sugar) can cause such a quick rush of insulin and actually INCREASE appetite and the risk of EXCESS FAT storage. By no means should you eliminate fresh fruits…you need them…but in moderation as they are sugar!
COMPLEX causes slower insulin rises and are less likely to increase appetite. They are also likely to contain vitamins and other important nutrients. Eating complex carbohydrates as your primary source of nutrition, both for weight loss and general good health means incorporating sensible portions of whole grain pasta, breads and cereals into your diet. (NOT refined white flour)
Our body likes to store fat for future use. Your body will not burn its excess when you keep giving it a fresh supply of carbs/sugar. It likes to burn carbs and store fat, it is built to keep you prepared for survival. Liver, muscle and fat store sugar in the form of glycogen. This will be burned first when energy is needed because you cut off the steady supply you have been jamming in your mouth. This will cause fat loss. Your body needs plenty of water to store glycogen so when you are using it for energy the body will release excess water resulting in quick weight loss….this is why you see the initial drop and than slower at the scale. The more you have to lose….the longer and faster you will see the needle drop! Stay hydrated and stay at it….even when the numbers are slowing up….it is STILL WORKING!
So…get rid of the white stuff….add brown…stop refined…start by cutting it in half then go for elimination. I have been feeding my sweet tooth all summer and it has resulted in a 10 pound pooch on my body. Getting on top of 10 pounds is so much easier than when I had to start with the 60 but my approach is the exact same as it was then. Start with TODAY! I did not go for the quick fix. I did that day to day long hall….it came off gradually, I built crazy amounts of muscle, lost cellulite and jiggly legs. YEAH….I still have a belly pooch but heck…I am 49 years old and have 3 kids and I am as strong as an ox…SO WHAT IF I HAVE A GUT!
as always…..BE GOOD TO YOURSELF….by watching what you are putting in your mouth….only person making you fat and unhealthy is YOU! And YOU my beautiful friend have the power to change it!!
